British sense of humour set aside, I obviously can't doubt your source, but I have this same vehicle in a 1908 book, not in English, that says it was made in another country under a different name. Under what name and in which country could my book have it?

Looks like a Wolseley gill-tube radiator to me. Herbert Austin left employment (although still a director) in 1905, so it wouldn't carry his name, and surely it wasn't built in Australia ? Wolseley had set up shop in England back in the 19th century.

One easy pro point, the book from where I took this picture says it was made in another country and under another name.

Well the obvious guess would be the Italian Wolsit.
However the Wolsit cars were the later Wolseley-Siddeley type, so I am not at all sure my guess is worth posting!

Yes Wolsit, according to the 1908 Italian book it was made at the Legnano factory and was a novelty.
