1928 Chevrolet four? I'm not very good at racing cars and they were all very much alike, but I do know it can't be a Chevrolet six because the exhaust is on the wrong side so it can't be Fangio's Wayne-Volpi-Chevrolet.

Sorry, I didn't name the date. I've only just noticed that part of your question - the picture I found of the car was winning the GP of Buenos Aires on 15.2.47.

I have found this picture of what I think is the same car - my Spanish is too poor to translate the caption but I believe the car is either a restoration or a recreation. It's titled as a Baquet Cadillac.
