I've found 12 different Ford 1172 Specials which raced in New Zealand between 1953 and 1956, by which time they were being easily beaten by imported machinery.

Where do I start? How about the 1955 GBS/Ford of Ian Buchanan ?

I can't find it.

It looks very similar to John McMillan's Jackson Special, but that was powered by a Ford V8. Maybe it was first fitted with a smaller engine ?

Roy Watson in 1954 racing near Havelock on a grass track, according to what I could find. Think the picture in my source is the same
