For one point: Who is that man, and what's his connection to the automobile business?

Only a correct, complete and specific answer will earn a point; tag-on's to other guesses will not. So, be specific and complete!

Lawrence Patrick, mechanical engineer specializing in impact biomechanics.  A pioneer in the study of mechanical stress on the human body using crash testing, which, in turn, led to the development of now common automobile safety devices such as: seat belts, air bags, safety glass, etc.

Did you work in the field of automotive safety? I'm surprised anyone would recognize him.

Patrick would sometimes volunteer his own person for tests, as seen here:

I didn't work directly in the field, but designed heavy, high precision machine tools which exposed me to research going on in the auto industry, especially in the development of air bags.  I have heard several development horror stories. such as monkeys being catapulted through rear windows due to excessive air bag charges!
