The puzzle car in the picture should be the Grayford special as it was in 1956 powered by a Ford 1172 side valve engine ,registered TTT932 and belonging to Stan Gray. It appears that it was originally built by Jem Marsh in 1953.

That's the long and the short of it, yes.  The same car has appeared on AP before but in a later guise with a different appearance.

Apparently it was Jem Marsh's first special with an 1172 cc Ford.

Here's the unmodified puzzle picture.  It shows the car being driven by Vic Hood in 1962:

The way the pictures are captioned in the Grayford website can be misleading. The car in 1962 was painted red , had the oval nosecone and no longer had wire wheels. I believe that the picture was taken in 1956 with Stan Gray driving.

Ah yes, as I wrote that I thought to myself "surely the car didn't still look like that in 1962"!
