Solved -NIC #26 - 1939 MG TA with Peel P1000 body

We've "kind of" had this car before, but this is a variation. What is it, and what lies beneath ? The registration plate will be of no use because it's no longer valid!

Yes! What makes it different from the other Peel-bodies cars is that this one is a coupe. The builder seems to have attempted to recreate an early Porsche look, with curved-lense headlights and a split windscreen. The MGA-style grille was present on one of the open cars, I think.

I've had the puzzle picture on my computer for at least 2 years, gleaned from a site which called it an "MGA-Porsche" but with no details about who built it or what its base was, but I was unable to post it as I couldn't find any further details about it!

Glad to see it's now resolved.
