Solved - NEH 2977: Barrett Steam Car

This is another car that has been pictured somewhere on AP before but not as its own puzzle.
For 1 point, what is it, what powers it and from when does it date?:

You've got the base but not the power source.
Since the base was very easy I won't lock it just yet..

Fiberfab did a version of the Jamaican that was Chevrolet Corvair powered around 1970

No!  Pretty sure it's not FWD.

The late Peter Barrett's steam car. Modified VW engine, converted to run on steam, computer controlled steam generator. Now owned by Greg Walker.

Yes, although I didn't know anything about the VW engine connection..
By all accounts a very efficient steam engine.
Apparently it was made by Peter Barrett in the 1980s.
