Its a Microplas Mistral body and looking at the wheels its probably Morris Minor based.

I've found the origin of your puzzle - it was a Microplas shell ordered from the UK and delivered to Rhodesia in the '50s. The buyer fitted it with Morris Minor mechanicals. I have read the entire website and can find no reference to a "pet name" for the car - the writer's mother called it a Morris Minor special.

The driver was JPR Olivant. The car was based on a Buckler Mk 16.

I didn't read about Wendax's Buckler connection, but I suppose that used a Microplas Mistral body too.
As far as I understood it the builder had a glassfibre body sent out from the UK and fitted his Morris Minor engine to it, completing the build in 1958. I think they affectionately called it "Dad's Morris Minor" because it had no name..

Olivant's car was not white, and was fitted first with a 1250cc MG engine (XPAG?) and later with a 1500cc unit (B-series?). I doubt if it's the same car.

Ah, yes.  It hasn't been called Rhodesia for a very long time..
I got the picture of a non-car website too..  They usually make harder-than-average puzzles!

And I found it because I can read Carnut's mind. I wish. By coincidence I had been on sites connected with the old Rhodesia, and guessed that it might be on a website connected with southern African countries, rather than South Africa. Simple Google image, and hey presto!
