It is by Steve Moal, yes.
But it has a name, so what is it and what is the car meant to represent?

I just Googled that and got just 1 page of health food supplements and sun-block products..  No cars, so I can't comment on that!

I'm going to get a reputation as being the AP Pedant - I recently had a "discussion" with Allemano as to whether a puzzle car was a monoposto or not - you have titled this puzzle as "1950s style" when I believe the car is more likely to have been styled on the Alfa 8C35 which was first seen in 1935. Note the grille and surround.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Sorry, I was only quoting from the website I got the picture from:

QUOTE
Mimicking an early fifties Alfa Romeo Grand Prix car, the Moal Torpedo above is Ferrari powered. Moal Coachworks is a fourth generation family run business which was set up at the turn of the 20th century by William Moal to build bodies and wheels for horse drawn vehicles.
UNQUOTE

Moal's themselves don't make any claim about what it represents; this is what they say about it on their website:

QUOTE
Eric Zausner's Torpedo is a genetic blend of classic Ferrari and quintessential hot rod. Is there more to it than that? "We weren't trying to create something old, we were trying to create something old and new."
UNQUOTE

At least we can see where the Zausner connection comes from, although I still haven't seen the "C12" name anywhere.

Here's a rear view:

I'm with you there!
An early fifties GP car would be a 158/159 and has a totally different nose like this (first and third cars):
Opinionated but sometimes wrong
