Yes, a LM prototype.
What's it based on though and from when?
I'll give you a lock until your next reply.

DB-Renault 750 Barquette Le Mans 1954. Built only 3 prototypes.
I have one rare photo of DB-Renault 750 Barquette (but it a road version)

I sympathise with dzima1985 - there are no readily available photographs on the net. I also found the puzzle picture, which seems to be an artists impression before the car was constructed.

The drawing has what I believe is termed "artistic licence" - the blob at the front is not an air intake, but houses a driving light. And the cars had central seats, whereas the drawing suggests LHD. I do have a period race photograph in a reference book, but did not recognise the car.

I've just realised this sounds like an excuse from a bad loser ! No such thing. Well done. I must try harder.

Same happened to me. By chance I was reading last night about those three DB-Renault in the 50s Bellu book, but didn't recognize the puzzle picture either.

Thanks for the pics folks. I'm not the best Puzzler on this site, but 1950s sports-racing cars are one of my favourites. I'm really annoyed that I couldn't solve that one ! Tomorrow's another day, as they say.
