No, it isn't English.
I couldn't decide if the wheel was on the right or in the middle!

A shot in the dark here.

VB 100 Bison from 1955 done by Batignolles Chatillon presumably for the French Armed Forces??

I could not find your photo but did find several others that show a very similar vehicle with central steering etc.  Perhaps this was a prototype?

Hi Bill,
First of all a belated happy birthday..
I think you are right in identifying this vehicle as the VB 100 Bison. It is probably the prototype designed in 1955 by Victor Bouffort and made by Batignolles Chatillon
All the best,
LL

You're right Bill in that it is the Bison VB-100 built by Batignolles-Chatillon.  Hiawatha is also right in that it was designed by Victor Bouffort, under whose licence they were made.  It might be the 1955 prototype, I'm not sure, but I believe they were produced from somewhat later than that.

However - neither of you have given me the name that it was sold under, i.e. on whose behalf Batignolles-Chatillon actually made them!

So the first one of you to give me that gets the point.  Locked for Bill and Hiawatha only to reply to therefore...

I'm not sure if I am going in the right direction here, but I can find that Creusot-Loire built 4 prototypes.  It appears there were a couple of versions, all prototypes from what I can find, going from the 1950's into the 1960's.  Apparently, no series production.

Reading it again once or twice it would seem that only the production version was a Creusot-Loire and I posted the prototype..
The item is printed below; I'll change the heading!
Thanks.

Interesting to note maybe is that Batignolles-Chatillon became part of Creusot (Société des Forges et Ateliers du Creusot) in 1957
