What can you tell me about this - who built it, what it's called, when it's from?
As I don't know much anyone posting any verifiable information can earn 1 point.
I have a name and date but not much else.

This is what I found out.

Its called a 1953 Jaguar XK120M fixed head coupe and was built and restored by noted US Jaguar restorer Bill Richert in 2003 for its unamed owner "to reflect Jaguars Heritage" which basically means it wasnt customised back in the day.

He used C type headlights and D type tailights and some custom built wheelcovers to create a period looking one off .

The car was first shown at the 2004 Cranbrook Concours d'elegance in Bloomfield Hills Michigan

It was sold at the RM Monterey Auction in 2010 for $107,250

That's about the long and the short of it - modified by person or persons unknown, just a Jaguar enthusiast, although quite how a Jaguar enthusiast could do that to a poor unsuspecting XK120 I don't know!

Well done.

It is beautiful, I agree.  I'm still not sure about modifying such icons though...

Apart from the chrome strips behind the headlights, it's gorgeous.  And lets face it, there are lots of XK120s around.
