Yes, it is indeed the first of the Friskys (or should that be Friskies?!).
But what was it known as* and who did it, to answer the questions first posed?

Quite so!
Although it wasn't called "Bug" officialy but has gained that name afterwards, it wasn't called a Frisky yet either..
But when built it was the prototype for what developed into the Frisky.
