It's a Volvo but I don't think you've got the right one.
I think the one you are referring to is the one pictured below; take another look!

No not "mixed up" with the Coggiola Viking  1800ESC concept that was shown in 1971 which looks completely different.

Car shown fastback roof on a standard P1800 in house Volvo design rejected for production in favour of 1800ES design.

OK, but have to say then it's name is not P1800 and it wasn't designed by Jan Wilsgaard according to my info.  Nor was it built in house and it wasn't in the 1970s!

You must have it down as the 1963 Fissore Volvo 1800GT which is how its listed on one website.

Those wheel proposals on that clay styling model are definately of the late 60's early 70's.

The Fissore Fastback was also from 1965 and was a metal running car,.

I'm going to give you the point as you describe fully in your last post what I have this car as.
However, I haven't found one site which describes the car as you say it is, yet it appears on numerous sites as the 1963 1800GT prototype.  I actually got the picture from a Swedish Volvo club site, but the same picture (I've never seen another one) appears on quite a number of other sites with the same description.
Although you could say those wheels look to be later than 1963 that isn't necessarily true.  There were alloy wheels of similar appearance appearing on cars around that ime (look at Abarths for instance) and they could well be from 1963.

So this is solved and I'm describing it as what you've said I think it is; if you can prove definitively otherwise (any links please PM as you can't post them within the puzzle) then I'll gladly change the heading.  But I think this is in fact what it is.
