In my opinion this will be an hard job: a four blocs, so from the first decade of XX century,  air cooled...is it a Franklin?

Are you asking "did the transmission case bolt directly to the engine?". I don't know. There seems to be an output shaft on one end, and a shaft for the crank handle on the other end.

Yes, you understood my question despite my english...the trasmission case seems not to be bolt on the engine;  I'd say this engine is from 1905-1910, am I right?

That's it.

While Brennan dabbled in making cars of their own, Brennan was more successful as supplier to builders of "manufactured automobiles". It seems little is known about this 4-banger, other than it was salvaged from the Brennan works in 1950. The pictures below shows a cleaned up example from a guy's impressive collection of air-colled bikes, snowmobiles, and more, down south:
