Pretty much a 3/4-scale version of the fabulous Type 41 Royale by Weinberger that General Motors Executive Charles Chayne owned for so many years, and that now resides at the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn. Actually the proportions look a bit better to my eye on the Type 50.

Yes I agree with you - I'm not a great fan of the flowing front wings into the rear.
