Well, the puzzle car looks rather large, so I'll guess the chassis is a 15 CV.  The design looks quite modern, relative to the dates of manufacture of the 15CV, and 1952 has already been ruled out, so I will try 1953.  So far that makes it a: 1953 Citroen 15CV (with a coachbuilder to be determined).

I'm leaning toward a non-French coachbuilder.  Italy and UK have been ruled out, so I'm thinking Swiss.  Because I think this car looks exceptionally modern for its date, I'm going to try a lesser known builder, who, my reference states, was "One of the most creative coachbuilders of the post-war period."  So my complete puzzle answer is: 1953 Citroen 15CV coupe by Beutler.

Indeed it is by Beutler, yes.  Well worked out!

Here's the unmodified puzzle photo, from which you can just see the Citroen chevrons.  I haven't been able to find any other photos.

Here's a clearer view but I'm just wondering if this is the same car as the headlights appear to be inset and perhaps the shape of the rear quarter lights are different?

Many thanks for that woodinsight.
Looking closely at your picture I would say the rear quarterlights are the same (look at the left hand side from the inside on my puzzle photo!) and I would say the headlights on my picture are also slightly sunken if you look very closely indeed.

However, the front bumpers do appear to be different and less wide to me!

On closer inspection (with my magnifying glass!) I would agree with you.
The bumpers appear to have been replaced with a smoother style.....
