A little bit harder perhaps but if you can identify the make, model, year and where this car was competing, a point will be your reward.

I'm pretty sure that's the Scuderia Veloce Lola Mk1 of Dave McKay which won the 1961 Australian GT Championship. I couldn't tell you which circuit this photo was taken at.

The Championship was run to Appendix K regs, and that allowed such "GT" cars as a Lotus XI, Jaguar D-Type and Maserati 300S.!!

Sorry to disappoint you as you seem so sure of your answer....
It's not a Lola (although I'm unsure of what the base car is), the year is younger than 1961 and geographically you're quite a distance away.

I went in with all guns blazing and came a cropper - I'm determined to get this. Some folks are coachbuilding specialists, some are veteran car experts, for me it's 1950s/60s motor sport. It's my speciality, just as for Inspector Clouseau of the Surete, it was the parallel bars,IIRC.

Anyhoo... is this a Widi?

BTW I'm confused by that bulge in the bonnet near the scuttle on the passenger side - way too far back to be a cover for carbs or any induction system. Odd.

No it's not a Widi and I don't know what the bulge on the bonnet is.
I think the best way to solve this one is to identify it's nationality.

By the way, I'm also passionately interested in sports racing cars of the 1940s-1960s.

Bingo! and the point goes to.........Carnut!

I haven't been able to find out any more about this car and would welcome more information.
There was a Davey II that loosely resembled a Ferrari 312PB sports racer - likewise with no information.

I did try to delve into it a bit more but I've been unable to find any other info about the "Davey 626".
This seems to be the only picture of it on the web, and the site it's on isn't very informative about the car itself, but, as you know, concentrates more on the driver!
