Apologies for the poor quality of the image.
Tell me the name of this car and what engine was fitted.
One point for the correct answer.

Well I would guess it is British (the flag and UK numberplate give that away).
It doesn't look that big but it has 5 stud wheels.

Not a kit car, it is quite large and it is a British one-off.....

My source doesn't tell me but it does say the engine is a 3.8-litre Jaguar with triple carbs, 4-speed gearbox and overdrive.

Well you have just answered the second part of your question...

The proportions suggest an e-type base and so does that specification.

I would guess it was made in the 60s

I don't actually have the year it was constructed.
You've given me enough information to LOCK it for you.
Just to add a little help - it's a single name of 9 letters

Yet another one requiring help from disappearing into the BH......

This Jaguar-based sports car's name is 9 letters in length (once again slightly misspelt) and could be described as follows -

"a very large thing or creature often associated with the sea but also referred to in other sectors"

Thanks.
Leviathon also seems to be a fairly common spelling of the word, so that must be it.

Quentin Wilson once did a TV programme called Leviathon featuring a Jaguar E-Type, but there was no connection with this racing car.

What I have learned whilst looking is that the Jaguar Mk 10 is generally referred to in Jaguar circles as "The Leviathan", for obvious reasons!

Yes! it's the Leviathon Jaguar Special and it means another point for you.

Here's the original ad the puzzle was taken from -

The car was still live and kicking in the early 80s and it was featured in a Kit Car magazine in a 4-page article.
The correct name is Leviathan.
