1989 Alpine twin turbo PPG Pace Car

TheWarlord gets a point for naming the car correctly.  It was based on an Alpine A310.

A lot of PPG pace cars were built, but this one is my favorite.

Was this Pace Car used by CART?  I don't remember 1989-1991 very well.  I DO remember PPG sponsoring pace cars, but I can't remember if it was CART or IRL.

Upon further review, it appears that it was used by IMSA for the Miami Grand Prix that included some pretty interesting prototype cars.

Ray, the exact lettering on the doors says "PPG CART" "Pace Car" and "Indy Car World Series"

The PPG pace cars were used in the CART Indy Car World Series.  This was in the time period before the IRL was created (Pre-1996).
