Based on a Hustler (William Towns design)

Inspired by the Hustler I suspect, but no direct relationship.

Is it registered as a Vendavan ? (In which case it is actually a Hustler Six).

It is a VendaVan, in which case this is now locked to you to complete the question and give me the model name too. 

I knew that there was an ice cream van version of the Hustler, but didn't realise this was it, though the resemblance is quite apparent, so good to know.

It was made by a company called Towability. That is all I can find, apart from the name they give the chassis which is Alko.

Good additional information thanks, but still locked to you as this vehicle had a distinct model name too.  So, any ideas?

Crikey, Driffield is only just up the road from here (despite the York postcode it's actually in East Yorkshire many miles away from York..) and I've certainly never seen one of those!

Wow, well done Thorax; 'Ice Star' was the extra name I was looking for for this Mini-based ice cream van.  You did very well to find a copy of the leaflet on the vehicle as well, as this is very rare I think.  A much-deserved point to you.
