Another one I'm not 100% sure of, but I do have an idea..  ;)

What's this and what it's based on? One point for the correct identification!

Most of these 'loose replicas' are VW-based, but the bonnet scoop suggest a front engine.  With these proportions Ii would think longitudinal rather than transverse.  Could the basis be a Ford Cortina (or its Taunus equivalent)

How about a BMW Eigenbau ? Or Veritas-BMW ? Picture looks from a later date than 30's, so I guess 1950-1955 ?

Right time frame, but I would not call it 'Eigenbau'.

The place is  Stadtparkrennen "Rund um das Scheibenholz", Leipzig, 1952.
The car is most probably the Mitteldeutsches Autohaus built BMW 328 based special

I agree, not only "most probably", but exactly. The car is pictured in here: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=12590.0 I don't know at which event it was photographed there, but it has starting number 108.

It surely is. I just found a bunch of pictures recently and this was one of them. I didn't find it in W. Melenk's book, so, I asked the author if he knows the car. Besite many interisting facts he replied it surely is featured in "Meister des Sports" :bag: and I had to face this puzzle is rather easy..  ;D
