This is the 1972 Marciano 268A Granturismo. A really, really lovely piece of machinery!

This car has featured here before, but was solved with a surprising amount of information lacking.
So, for 1 point, what is it, who was it built for and what powers it?

Yes, it's the Alfa 268A Marciano built in 1972 for (rather than by) Mr Vincenzo Marciano and based on an Alfa 33 with a 2.6 litre Montreal V8 engine.  It was most probably built by the Autodelta team.

It's featured before so will be merged; here are some more pictures showing how parts from cars including Ferraris were used:
