Hi Amigos:
You will probably find this hard to believe, but many years ago, I purchased two issues of L'Illustration L'Automobile, one 8 October 1938 and the other 4 October 1941. When I looked at Saco's two photos, I remembered these magazines and finally found them in a box.
In the 1938 issue, appears Saco's photo and it is a Saoutchik creation. My French is very bad but there was a small paragraph telling how this was their solution to people needing easier access to the rear seat but who preferred a two door car to a four door for styling reasons. Another solution was also presented by makers such as Licorne and Bugatti which was the first, apparently, folding drivers and front passengers seats which you could fold out of the way of the rear seat passenger when they entered or left the car.
Very interesting and I will now spend an hour or two going through each magazine slowly page by page. Even the advertisements are quite fascinating by today's standards.
