B. Porsche 550                  - Trenkel/Schlueter

C. Renault 4CV Special       - Bizeray/Bizeray

D. Scampolo-DKW             - Komossa/Arnold

It's the start of the 1953 ADAC 1000kms at the Nurburgring. I have a German-text history of the race which shows the exact start a few seconds earlier. Cars A and B came 3rd and 4th overall.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Sorry. I didn't understand the reference to rear lights. I thought you had mixed two different questions together. This motor racing period is my speciality and I got too excited.
