Not the moulding, but the voume of the side, if you look carefully. Balbo made several experiments at that time, to see how the volume of the front fender could be integrated with the body, from just an extension into the door to a full integration in the side (anticipating, actually, the Fiat 1400).
The puzzle car is an intermediate design, the modern one posted by woodinsight one of the latest.

Yes, now I see it clearly - also the rear wheel arch is quite different too..... :headache: (I'm due to replace my reading glasses shortly!)
