Toyota Van?  (Also known as a whole buncha other names like: Toyota Space Cruiser, Toyota Tarago, MasterAce and so on)?

Yes, based on a Toyota Van!  After answering questions for a while, it occurred to me that this might actually be a 4WD Toyota Van.  But that would be crazy. 

I figured the Porsche and Subaru questions, assumed the engine was in the rear.  If not there, it would probably have to be under the driver seat, like in a Toyota Van.

And a point goes to pnegyesi, for finishing the puzzle.  (I gave the point for finding the name of the truck.  I am marking this Solved, as I doubt the name of the builder will be found.)

Some puzzles just jump out at you.  VW on a Toyota chassis, named Surreal?  Why not?
