Rusty Chassis says: Name that Frame - Solved
« on: October 16, 2011, 07:10:23 AM »
A selection of chassis and frames. The vehicles that were built around them are from may eras, and multiple locations around the world. Unlike Allan's recent Coachbuilder puzzle, these chassis underpinned off-the-rack automobiles though a coachbuilder may have had a go at most any of them.

1 point on offer for correctly identifying one of these chassis or frames.

Points will be awarded when the puzzle is complete.

Number 3;

This looks like a Factory Promotional Car for dealerships.

A car battery went into the front of the car, a car stater made it go.
This looks like a 64-66 T- bird ?

You're on to something, but not quite there yet. It is a small-size T-Bird, but is a bit older than you suggest. Also need the name of the manufacturer.

Otto,
In looking closer at the picture.
Looks more like the 61-63 T-bird style ?

The Junior car manufacturing company?
I was told they called these models the T-bird juniors?

Guess the company started making them in mid 1954 and carried on up until about 1966?
From there, I think, lord help us again, they went to gasoline powered Juniors?

Well,
I guess I was right on a few of the details.
In do believe that it is a 61-63 model.
Quite an entertaining puzzle and a great topic/post Otto.
John
BTW>>> number 10 sure looks like a Jaguar motor and wheels, about 1954?
and number 6 looks like a European chassis with running board out riggers.?

That's right. Technically, I'll need you to type the manufacturer's name to secure that point for you.

Number 10 is not a Jag, but your geography is about right

Number 6 is from Europe, but was too modern and sporty for running boards.
