This is a Rolland-Pilain 2l race. This is the only survivor of the three factory cars entered by the brand Rolland-Pilain to the hill climb of the Mont Ventoux in 1908

Multiple sources give a different year, though most of what you've provided is correct.

The majority of sources give 1909 as the year of the Mont Ventoux race where the car was placed 2nd...

Thank you Jean-Marie, but I will not bother this person for so little: the question was: what is it? So Pilain Rolland is the correct answer. Then the date is not required. Now, I think this car has been built in 1908 and participated in the Mont Ventoux in 1909 ...
I spend on this forum to relax, not to take my head: the points do not interest me.
Discover cars that I do not know I'm interested: "sheep with five legs", as I like to say  ;)
