Pity it did not make production, surely Chrysler would have looked at it.

Djetset

It certainly looks better than a Hillman Hunter-based Sunbeam Alpine/Rapier fastback coupe  ;)

well, looking at Michelotti's portfolio and the remarks here, I'd go for the "Hillman Hunter Paykan"
Paykan or Peykan?

Paykan

Changed to Paykan (although I have seen both spellings used by the manufacturer...)

Carnut

In Persian:  پیکان

I think it means 'Arrow', which is quite appropriate if so because of course that's what the code-name of the Hunter/Minx was before it was launched by Chrysler!

One of the questions originally posed in the puzzle asked "who the car built for", but this was never answered!

Cribbing from the esteemed Auto Italia, which is now out, I can tell you it was built for "a Mr Samini".  More than that it does not say!

Any points on offer for answering the part of the question that had remained unanswered, Quiller?!

Sorry - I haven't been ignoring you, I've just been away for a while. When I asked 'who for' I was really after the company - i.e. Paykan, rather than a specific individual within the company, but extreme kudos to you for knowing.

Thanks!
I can't really claim to 'know' it, just that I read it in Auto Italia..!
