Becoming a Bristol was the best thing to happen to the ERA G-Type. Leslie Johnson promised a young Stirling Moss a competitive British F2 car - when the Moss entourage saw the car for the first time there was a long and silent pause in the conversation. It wasn't the only mistake he made in his career regarding choice of mount.
