By jove I think I've got it!  Is it the Reptune GT, possibly one of four made in Canada?

By Toutatis, you have got it! Spot on. It's Mini based.

It's the 1976 Reptune GT, based on the Austin Mini and built by Dennis Prophet, right? ;)

I have to confess I'd never heard of the Reptune GT!
But I checked into your reply and there it is (unfortunately a repost so I'll have to merge them):

http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=6181.msg53055#msg53055

I had it as something else completely, but I think it's one of those cases where someone has built a car but hasn't disclosed where he sourced the body or what it's really called.. The one in my picture is Mini Cooper S-based and was built by Alexander Ltd, although it appears someone heavy has sat on it in my picture!  The usual poetic licence...

Clearly you are right with the name, so it's one point for you and it's also your last Rookie point as you are now an Expert!  Well done.

Haha, I have similar problems. I'll find the car that was posted, but the page it is on just shows a picture and not any info, or it's titled wrong. But you just have to keep digging, I guess!

Now my quest begins to reach professional status. I've solved a few from there though, so maybe it won't take as long as I initially thought!

Do you have any tips on how to make the pictures image search-proof?

One or two of us splash some bars or paint or crosses across the pictures, but I don't really do that.
I tend to be a bit too much of a trusting soul and leave it to the integrity of the puzzlers.  The problem only really occurs when someone new comes on the site who isn't really familiar with the etiquette and thinks "This is easy"... But we soon weed them out.

Alright, that sounds fine. I have a good way to put on some bars and similar stuff, but I'll see what I can do.
