Expert puzzler level.

Is this anything to do with the Alain de Cadenet McLaren M8-DFV ?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

The image suggests that this is the UK . Is this a one-off car, or from a well-known constructor ?

ValkyrieGT

Not a well known manufacturer, & not from the UK. It is from a country settled by people from the UK.

nicanary

Wow ! The background looks for all the world like the UK in the 70s. There's an MG1100 and what might be a Renault R8.

So, I'm guessing Australia. It might be a.....Elfin ??

No, sorry. Here is a clue for the 1st name of the car...apparition, a ghostly appearing figure. ;)

Avalanche

The clue gave it away...

This is the Spectre GP69 built by Les Redmond.

Good work, point for Avalanche. Spectre GP69 by Les Redmond. 1.8 liter Ford Cosworth engine, bodywork by Williams & Pritchard.

When I saw the clue I thought of Spectre, but decided to leave it till the morning before double-checking. Beaten to it. I had previously looked at images for Williams and Pritchard because it looked like it could be their work, but the Spectre didn't show.

What's the NZ connection ?  Is it Brad Ward, since he was involved in the project?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

ValkyrieGT

Yes, the New Zealand connection  was Brad Ward, the Chequered Flag mechanic, as well as the authors of the story of Les Redmond.
