Could this be a predesesor of the 1977 Pontiac Phantom by William Mitchell?
I keep finding images that are close but not exact matches.

That's because it should be spelt "Scorpion" hence never showed up in the search I did...
I didn't think to try Scorpian as have never seen the word!

Actually you're right and if I'd realised I wouldn't have moved it up to the Experts.. I've even re-posted it myself before... D'oh!
I said in my initial post that this car has appeared before but I said not as its own puzzle. I was wrong, as searching for "Pontiac Scorpion" did not produce the original puzzle (it still doesn't - I just tried..) but searching for "Pontiac XP-758" does produce the puzzle with which I have now merged mine (again..).
