No grill at front: An early Renault 4CV prototype? Or an electric car?

Otto Puzzell

Not a Renault, nor electric.

shamrock

A Volvo prototype in disguise.

Tuckeroo

GM built experimental cars in the 1930s powered by 2 stroke X4 rear mounted engines (the GM X-cars as I believe they were known), this is one of them.

Tuckeroo

I should say that the correct years for the cars were between 1934 and 1938.

Tuckeroo

Allow me to correct myself again:  This car was the GM Martia I (not x-car necessarily)

Actually you are (partially) right about this name, sorry.
But it's not entirely what I'm looking for.

The only other info that pops up is the holden car company? I wish i could do more.

Carnut

No, not Holden.
I'll give you a point in due course for getting the car's name, but it's open again for someone else to give me what I'm looking for for another point.

Bill Murray

According to at least one source, this was a project Kettering was involved in in the 1933 time period.

It may be a reference that is not valid, but it was titled the "X Car Project" or something like that.  No name was given for the specific car although a lot of technical specs were given.

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but if it is, please give the point to gibbs, as he has done all of the groundwork investigation.
Cheers
Bill
