I left it there because I thought it was unreadable unless you knew it...but you prove me wrong!
Now for 1 point can you find the place where it was built?
Locked for you.

I guessed Scandinavia because the second car looks like a Ford V8 Special of some sort, which were popular in that region.

Is this Denmark ? In which case, is that BMW power in the puzzle car?

Gunnar Olsson at Gelleråsbanan, Karlskoga?
I compared this car with many specials I've got, but I can't find a matching one.
Unfortunately this is all I've got:
"The attentive observer guessed it correctly: this image shows a kaiser-rennwagen! A Swedish enthusiast has this not bad looking monoposto built from a normal kaiser sedan, about its successes however, we have no news"
Not from Denmark, but Wendax got the right nation and got the point
Is there anyone who knows more?

Point for Wendax.
Moved to the solved section.
I think it'll remain a mistery.

Not quite. I can't believe there was more than one Kaiser-based single-seater in Sweden, and I've just come across the entry and results for the III Skarpnacksloppet run on 13.9.53, roughly to the then-current Formula 1 regulations (the WDC that year was for F2 cars).

There is an entry by Arne Lindberg of a Kaiser-powered special, amongst the usual local Ford V8 specials. His entry number was #21, which means it's not the race covered by the puzzle picture, and he finished 4th overall, behind 2 Ford specials and a Cooper-JAP. I believe that the puzzle photo would have been taken at a similar event around that time, since most major Scandinavian races were held to this formula.

So i reckon we've identified the driver, at least.

That's a great find indeed!
Is there a way to confirm it? I have a list of Swedish single seaters but as you wrote no one was Kaiser-powered...

It's in the Paul Sheldon "Black Book" for that year, amongst the details of F1 races. As I say, it's not absolute proof, but I feel that there's only a slender chance of another Kaiser Special at that time.

Your detective work deserves a point!

I may have been awarded a point incorrectly. Indeed there may have been more than one Kaiser race car! I have found that a Kaiser was raced in Nordic events by a Gunnar Olsson, who was agent for Kaiser in Sweden.  He called the car Go-On, and it was later fitted with a Ford engine. He also built Go-On II which had a Lancia Astura engine, and later on an Alfa Romeo C2500 motor.

So maybe the car raced by Lindberg belonged to Olsson, or there was a second car.  It seems an unlikely choice for racing - it would have been a lot less powerful than a Ford V8.
