Who knows this little race car?

Original make, engine displacement and driver for one point.

The photo was made very shortly after the war.

The car´s chassis is prewar, but I think the modified bodywork came later.

It is indeed a Fiat chassis, probably a Topolino, but with a bigger engine.

I suppose it's a NSU-Fiat 500 base, perhaps with a larger engine. Is it pictured at Nurburgring?

Most possibly you´re correct with the chassis guess.

But this is not the Nürburgring.

Hockenheimring - yes.

1947 - yes.

But it is not Vorster...

Does it matter?  The usual way is to award the point to whoever puts the final piece of the jigsaw in place.  Sometimes one person does 90% of the work and someone else provides the final 10% and the puzzle setter decides to award a second point recognising the 90% effort.

It's up to grobmotorix.

Well, the hardest bit to find was the name of the driver/car.
So, targhediferro contributed the last and essential part to this puzzle and it is his point.
