I thought you are right and my source is again wrong...
I have this car as a Kurtin-Craft, in a race at Puebla in 1953... but I've found that a Galsspar-Mercury with #13 ran the 1953 Carrera... so this should be the car...
One point for you...

Could it be that this is a Kurtis-Kraft rebranded as a Glasspar by its owner?

My usual [internet] source for sports car racing information has #13 in the 1953 Carrera as a Glasspar- Mercury driven by Oscar Fano Bush (MEX) and Raul Aurelio Martinez (MEX) which was disqualified for exceeding the time limit.  He also lists two Kurtis cars.  John Tipler's book on the Carrera Panamericana does not list it at all.

I've found the same... I think there is an error in the italian magazine... unluckly it was common with foreign cars...

That's a Glasspar body, for sure.

This Chrysler Kurtis-Kraft (with a 'K', not a 'C') 500K was entered with drivers Tony Bettenhausen, Duane Carter and Murrell Belanger (USA), but DNQ'd after experiencing electrical issues.

Another 500K, with a Cadillac mill, was entered by Jack Ensley in '53. I cannot find a pic of that car.
