It's a lovely example of streamlining but the mystery is, how did the driver see beyond half way down the bonnet?
Well now, I think this is prewar Germany so either he looked out the side and navigated by the edge of the autobahn, or the central barrier if they had one, or if it was the stretch of autobahn that doubled as a runway the runway landing lights.
Or perhaps the bonnet line was lower than the wings/mudguards/fenders so he could see straight ahead.
