Right!

With all due respect, I believe this rendering is a 500K, not a 540K.

The rendering is exactly the same car, same angle, everything as a photo found in one of the most respected Mercedes history books which I can PM if necessary. There were a set of three "Press" photos of the 500K, all in this book.

The 500K did not have the Mercedes star on the rear wheel covers which the 540K does have, the 500K had a slightly different shaped rear glass in the roof of one piece as in the quiz question and did not have a division piece in that window which the 540K does have.  Finally, and it is very difficult to be sure here, but the 500K had solid disc wheels and the 540K had wire wheels and it looks to me like the quiz photo has solid wheels on the front.

Please check further.

Oh, sorry.
I´ve missed to cross-check my file. :bag:

Thank you for the hint. It is indeed a 500K Autobahnkurier!

OK, Burkhard, it is after all the 1st April, "April Fools Day", so who gets the point?? :-\

Well, I would have locked it for ropat if I would have noticed the wrong number at first.

And then I´m absolutly sure he would have presented the correct number, because it is very easy to find.

What I was really after was the word Autobahnkurier, this very special bodywork.

So I´ve kept the point for ropat53, sorry...

No doubt the car is a 500K I was wrong, I checked the ivory and green car that belonged to the Shah of Iran and it's also a 500K. I appreciate the point, but I wouldn't like this to cause any problem.

The puzzle pic drawing may have been a blueprint of this photo?
