Here's another interesting powerplant, but this one is more 'famous' (though just about as rare).
Can you identify the engine and its application?

Is it 6 cilinder? 60 degrees? If so, it could be Lancia Aurelia's engine...

That would be the supercharged V8 Hemi Buick Nailhead as used in the LeSabre/XP 300.

Its definately a cutaway diagram of the 3.5 litre (216 cu in )all aluminium hemi head supercharged V8 used in Harley Earls 1951 Buick Lesabre showcar (as sixtee5cuda has pointed out).

I thought Ardun/Simca hemi head Flat head Ford conversion at first but the pushrod angles are wrong etc.

Sorry for the delay.  Broken computers are highly annoying!
sixtee5cuda is absolutely right.  This is the LeSabre / XP300 semi-hemi.
Posted here for the sake of comparison is a regular production Buick Nailhead.
Note the valve configurations.  The Nailhead loses the exotic split-the-combustion-chamber pushrod routing on the exhaust side of the XP300.
