Viking VIII was an effort to capitalize on the success of Viking VII...

...and introduce an limited production sports car to be built in Costa Rica and sold in the USA. Although the car would look like the successful Viking VII it would incorporate an American built engine transaxle assembly from Chrysler and use an all composite monocoque body-chassis unit. A single prototype was built along with tooling suitable for an initial production run. Unfortunately the client ran into financial difficulties and the initial production run never materialized.
