#1 is not a Corolla
Tercel?

No

OK.  I've now spent literally hours Googling rear views of every single Toyota since the 1960s that there's a picture of online and can find no match.  There are even pages and pages of nothing but Toyota rear-light clusters, but none match..

I have therefore resigned and will leave it to someone cleverer than I..

I was going to say Toyota but you beat me to it, then I waited...
Could it be a Crown?

I did try the Crown (I drew up a list of every Toyota car model made since the 1960s and checked them all) but couldn't match its lights to #1!

Someone will be able to I'm sure, but not me!

Not a Land Cruiser, right?
I'd go for Carina, then.

Otto Puzzell

What error leads must err. O, then conclude not a Land Cruiser nor Carina

I think #1 could be a third generation Toyota Cressida (1984-88).

It's all a matter of perspective.
I was looking for something much narrower...
Well done Tom!

There was a rather generous clue... ;)

It's all a matter of perspective.

Very true, Carnut. All would do well to keep perspective in mind. For instance, looking, say, at light #3, one might do a kind of P.O.V. Waltz.

Need to put this one to bed. So, some clues:

#2 was introduced with a different taillight. This taillight was an update that came some years later.

#3 was sold under more than one brand name, depending upon the country. Most were ravaged by the tinworm, and are long since gone.

#11 was a work vehicle.

#12 when considering what this might be, remember: these puzzle follow an order that must be followed

#17 is a well-known car, by a well-known designer. It's been a puzzle in its own right, as well.

#19 - A one-off show car

#20 - Strictly upper-crust.

Carnut

#18 has already been identified Otto so think you must mean #19 is the show car and #20 is upper-crust?

#19 isn't an Elva-BMW is it?
