Graham#10 - 1982 Lonsdale

For one point: What is this car?

Only a correct, complete and specific answer will earn a point; tag-on's to other guesses will not. So, be specific and complete!

The first pic is hotlinked to Photobucket. The picture has to be attached to the puzzle (as you have done, Carnut), for it to appear in the puzzle index.

I believe this is badge engineered Mitsu Sigma sold in the UK as a "Lonsdale" around 1982-83.

1 point to MyMokke.

This is the 1982 Lonsdale, a badge-engineered version of the Australian Mitsubishi Magna. The Lonsdale was named after the Adelaide suburb where the cars were originally assembled. The car was renamed to try and avoid the a voluntary import quota which limited Japanese-manufactured imports to 11 per cent of the UK market. The idea was unsuccessful, and from 1984 the Lonsdale was sold as the Mitsubishi Sigma in the UK.

The sedan went by the name of Lonsdale YD 41, the wagon was the YD 45.
