For one point: Make, Type and year of this car?

Only a correct, complete and specific answer will earn a point; tag-on's to other guesses will not. So, be specific and complete!

I have a different name for this one, and it's much older than 1960.

I've seen this somewhere, but can't find it. I think it's Ford V8 powered. Is it a rebodied Allard?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

I can't say for sure the make of the engine, but the displacement is consistent with a Ford mill.

Not connected with Allard, from what I can discern.

Can I ask one question - is this photo available on the internet, or was it taken from a period magazine?

This is one of around eight JBMs built by James Boothby in Horley, Sussex between 1947-1950. They had Ford V8 flathead engines. I believe this car is the sole surviving example, registered LPF 469, but I don't know any of that car's history. I believe the full model designation is a JBM MkII Supersports.

I thought this was destined for the black hole!

This one is, according to the person who supplied the picture, is:

Make: J.B.M.
Model: MK1
Year of manufacture: 1947
Model
Engine size(CC): 3916

You were the only person to recognize it as a JBM, so the point is yours.  :)
