For 1 point, tell me what the name of this vehicle was, what it was based on and which country it's from?

Most unusual vehicle to be sure.

The vehicle is a Ford Model AA built in Holland.
A rough translation indicates it was to improve the load capacity of that vehicle but as Ford came out with a higher capacity vehicle at almost the same time, (the BB?) it became almost immediately redundant.  I gather only one example was made.

It was called the SIAM, obviously a reference to the famous Siamese Twins.
It could be used as a load carrier as in the puzzle photo or as a tractor as in the attached photo.

I am not sure of the builder due to translation problems but it could have been Konings or Koningen of Swalman.

Bill, very impressive. I didn't think anyone would solve this for quite a while. The information you've given is as much as I know, apart from I thought there were a couple or more of these running around. If someone can translate these pages and add a bit more info, I'd be grateful, like, were these sold through Ford in the Netherlands?

Hi Craig:

Thanks.

Sadly, my knowledge of Dutch is very thin.  I had enough trouble learning Swedish and Spanish.

Where I found the photo, on Google.NL, it only had a few words attached to the photo and I translated most of those.  In reading your article (where in the hell did you get that magazine in OZ??) it always refers to the vehicle in the singular sense, ie
"the truck" or "the radiator" etc. etc. which still leads me to believe it was a one off.
That much Dutch grammar I can understand ;D.

I think there are others on the Forum that know something more about the vehicle, maybe they will join in here.

My Dutch is also very limited, I can just add that it was built in 1932 for Smeets ( flour merchants ) by Konings in Swalmen and it seems fairly certain only one was produced.

Thank you, that corroborates with what Bill said. I thought I had seen a later version based on a 1932 truck?, somewhere.

With the 4-cylinder motors, it'd be based on a Model B or BB truck.  Interesting vehicle.  Model As are "interesting" to drive and I can only imagine how much fun it might be to drive one of those beasts.

All the trucks apart from the last 2 are based on Model A Fords.
The second last one is based on 1932-33 Ford trucks and the last pic is a 33 truck.
