Sleeve valve ?
I don't know that.
It referred to the position of the camshaft..

I really ought to leave this one to others, but I can't let go, like a dog with a stick !

Is it the weird Montier of 1932 - it had two Ford Model-A engines inline in a chassis from 1927 (!) ?

Not Donnet either.

I'll promote this to Pro's soon. I'm guessing there will be someone who know it.

I reckon "Our man in Antibes" will get this one. As soon as it's solved I'll say "Ohhh, of course it is...."

Is it the 1929 Majestic, an eight-cylinder car built by the engineers Gadoux (formerly at Oméga-Six) and Delong?

Yes. We had it before, but with a different design: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=2899.0

Somebody knows the exact story of both cars? Who was first?

The formerly puzzled Vernandi was presented at the Paris salon in 1928. It should be the first version. I think the actual puzzle car is the same one with a modified nose.

Yes, that's possible. The streamlined nose fits the 'old' shape very well.

Whilst investigating this puzzle I reckon I covered every obscure French racing marque of the period 1928/30. This car is not mentioned in any of my reference books, although now I know the answer it is covered in Georgano's Encyclopedia of the Automobile. He does not mention it in his Motor Sport Encyclopedia.

So I've learned something ! Apparently the advertising for the car listed numerous sporting successes, but I reckon they were "hyped up" and it was a bit of a dud. There seem to be a lot of DNA and DNS listed in the racing calendar.

It is pictured in Bellu's 1979/1929 edition of Toutes les voitures francaises (Automobilia 84s) in its initial guise.

It is featured though not pictured in Erwin Tragatsch's fantastic book "Das große Sport- und Rennwagen Buch" by Hallwag 1968.
