Hello, Iam the son of John J. Chika. My dad worked at Chrysler styling before World War II in the styling group with Herb Weissinger – Kaiser and Ford designer , and Buzz Grisinger – Kaiser and Ford designer . During the war, my dad worked at the Willow Run bomber factory near Ann Arbor, Michigan. After the war he worked at Kaiser - Frazer as the leader of the styling department. Darrin developed the styling for the "Darrin Convertible" which looks very much like the car pictured in this "puzzle". My father was directly responsible for the "Henry J", which was the small coupe produced in 1949. I think that the car pictured is probably taken off of the clay model of the Darrin convertible with a modified trunk style and front end treatment . My father and Bud Grisinger have both passed away, but I will be happy to answer any of your questions.
