A Delfino? (strange garage, a DAF 33 and a Jeep and then this thing...)

This is Peter and Paul Pellandine's earliest efforts in building a steam powered sports car.
It was based on one of his his earlier Pellandini's (and wears a Pellandini badge too) but came with strongly modified suspension, drivetrain and body. The Mini engine was replaced by a steam engine of Pellandine's own design.
The car was meant to break the land speed record, but I'm not sure if it ever did.
The building was largely funeded by the state.
I do not know its official name though.

Locked for you till you next reply as I have a slightly different story about the history of this car.
Maybe my source is wrong, but if you can confirm your story I'm fine with that.

I've done a bit of googling and came across several names:
Pelland Steam Car Mk2, Pelland Steamer and Pelland Steam Cat.

I'd say Pelland Steam Car Mk2 makes most sense, as it might have been renamed during its long development.
The Pelland name appears from 1977, and the base for this car was definately born earlier (hence the Pellandini badge)

It appears an effort was made to break the land speed record for steam cars, but it was deamed unsuccesful in 1982.

Thanks Allemano.
I'm sure the car (and its proper name) appeared in a magazine in the early seventies, but it could take a while before I have found that.
Don't hold your breath.

My source revealed that this car was the last of Pellandine's record steam cars. ( ??? )
I didn't ask for the history of the car and you did sufficient work to get a point.

I'll keep it open for all till someone has the definite name for this car.

During the merge, it looks like "Pellandine" turned into the incorrect "Pallandine" in the title.
