It's a Mercedes chassis, but not a 18/100.
Not a Maybach airship engine, but close.
Older than 1925.

The engine was based on a Zeppelin aero engine and displaced 23 litres!

Yes, that's the one. It's in the Southward Car Museum in New Zealand. It's a 23 litre Mercedes engine, and it's referred to as a Zeppelin Aero engine. So I'm unsure if it was originally a Zeppelin engine, or an Aero engine. If there is any further information, I'll add it here.
